Melissa Skirboll is an award-winning director, writer, actor and producer – for both screen and stage. She was awarded the Filmmaker of the Year at the Vasteras Film Festival in Sweden in 2019.
She won outstanding playwright for Blizzard: A Love Story; outstanding direction The Closet by Amy Gray Piper at Planet Connections and here at Estro I Have It by Bekah Brunstetter which she directed won the audience favorite in 2014.
She is a member of New York Madness, a director for the Women's Work Play Lab at New Perspectives Theatre and The Brazen Giants Ensemble. She has directed, written or acted at Nylon Fusion Theater Co, Urban Stages, New Perspectives, Abingdon Theatre and Estrogenius Festival to name a few.
Currently in post-production with her fourth short Greetings From Sarajevo, her first three films have been official selections in 57 festivals around the world and have garnered 12 awards and 49 nominations so far.
