All the info is below - please hit "submit" by 11:59pm tonight with a play that has a title and no personally identifying marks (aka: blind submission.)

Short Play Series - for plays that are complete and have a team attached.

Reading Series - for plays that do not yet have a team and need to be heard.

Short Play series = We will select eight 10-minute plays for a single program

Reading Series = We will select 5-7 plays to be directed by an Estro director and read by the EstroGenius 2025 ensemble of actors.

BASIC GUIDELINES

• 10-minute/8-page Play that offers dynamic, multi-faceted characters. 

• Playwrights may be any gender.

• Plays ideally offer a new perspective and/or the unheard voices of female, trans, non-binary women.

• The title of this year's festival is: ALL-IN

  
  

SUBMISSION PROCESS - Items to have ready

• A blind-copy script (no identifying marks/names please!) 

• 50 word synopsis of your play.

• Short Bio

• Basic idea of tech needs

  
  

REVIEW PROCESS

The EstroGenius panel is made up of a trusted group of writers, directors, producers and actors.

Multiple people review each script using the the following criteria:

• Does the work excite you/make you want to see it on stage?

• Is the story told or presented in an interesting or genre-bending way?

• Does this story break  assumptions OR offer a new way to argue assumptions?

• Does this work need to be seen now?

• How does the work illustrate festival frame: "ALL-IN?"

• Overall sense of the play

  
  

We understand that there may be edits between now and May. 

Revisions will be welcome, but the play must not exceed 10 minutes.
